On December 17, 2010 TOTAL signed a Heads of Agreement (HoA) with PT
PERTAMINA (PERSERO) to develop East Natuna block in the Natuna Sea, formerly
known as Natuna D-Alpha.

Besides TOTAL, ExxonMobil and Petronas are also partners of Pertamina in this project.

With more than 50 years of experience in producing acid and sour gas, TOTAL has
developed its proprietary technology such as bulk CO2 separation to provide solution
in order to improve efficiency of facilities and the technology to transport, re-inject and
store CO2. East Natuna recoverable gas reserves are estimated at 46 TCF with 71%
of CO2 content. Being selected as one of the preferred partner to develop East
Natuna, TOTAL is proud to be able to contribute to monetize this major gas reserves
aiming to increase the Indonesian gas production level.

"The development of East Natuna shall bring many benefits for the State and the
People of Republic of Indonesia including employment and business opportunity for
local companies as well as further strengthen the position of Indonesia as the major
gas producer in the region" said Elisabeth Proust, President and General Manager of
TOTAL in Indonesia As quoted by several printed media following a brief interview
right after the signing at the ministry of Energy and Mineral resources.

Participating in this project is in line with TOTAL's commitment to assist the
Indonesian government in its efforts to maintain and increase production while
showing seriousness in strengthening our presence on the country.
