Structural Designer
· Status : Resident position with around 2 months of holiday which can be taken as 8weeks work X 2 weeks off
· Duration: 12 months renewable
· Nationality: Ex-pat
· Location: Nigeria
· Site: Lagos
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
¾ Manage, Supervise and co-ordinate the Detailed Engineering
¾ Manage and Supervise all Company Engineering Personnel and administrative personnel.
¾ Will be the Main Contact for Company with the Detailed Engineering Contractor.
¾ Manages and coordinates all resources and workload within the engineering department of the package
¾ Directs all engineering staff to execute engineering work with safety in design, technical integrity and excellence as highest priorities
¾ Monitors adherence to Company Procedures, Standards and industry norms
¾ Continuously monitors and improves working practices and culture to meet Company expectations
¾ Assists in the preparation of the overall Tender Documentation
¾ Responsible for the co-ordination of the Detailed Design of the package with all other packages on the Upgrade Project.
¾ Manage the Detailed Engineering Contract – providing input and support to the Package Manager and Senior Contract Engineer.
MAIN ACTIVITIES :
¾ Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned package elements, monitoring progress to maintain compliance to those schedules and budgets.
¾ Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the Project with all Discipline Engineers.
¾ Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the Company.
¾ Supervises recruitment based on workload forecasts prepared by package.
¾ Coordinates the production of deliverables lists and cost, time and resources in preparation for the call for Tender for the Procurement Supply, Construction and Commissioning Package.
¾ Assists the Package Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of the technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the Detailed Engineering and the project.
¾ Determines the technical skills and man-hours required for the Detailed Engineering.
¾ Ensures Company criteria and scope is understood and met by all engineering disciplines. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions / meetings. Understands the Projects goals in order to enhance the project work.
¾ Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activity for Company
¾ Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to Package disciplines.
¾ Reviews and prepares change orders as required. Notifies affected personnel of all changes.
¾ Interfaces with Construction Management team in coordination with Vendors and Contractors. Assists in Tender analysis, reviews and recommendation, Vendor and Contractor availability and capability.
¾ Coordinate answers to Technical Queries raised by contractor with the support of Engineering Team and vice versa
¾ Ensure full Compliance with Technical Scope of Work with applicable codes & standards and Company's
