IPA launches convention, exhibition in Jakarta

The 35th Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) Annual Convention and Exhibition kicked off on Wednesday at the Jakarta Convention Center. The organizing committee says up to 150 local and foreign firms had confirmed their participation in the event. "We expect around 4,000 visitors this year," organizing committe chairman Vincent Soetedja said as quoted by kompas.com. The theme of the convention this year is "Indonesia Energy: Growth, Security and Sustainability".

Maluku needs Rp 17.51t for marine resources management

The eastern Indonesian Province of Maluku until 2016 needs a total funds of Rp17.51 trillion for its local marine and fishery resources management program. Isolated showers in Jakarta on Wednesday: BMKG

Showers are expected in some parts of Greater Jakarta including the Thousand Islands regency on Wednesday morning, the Climatology, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) says. The agency also has forecast wet weather in South and West Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang and Bogor on Wednesday afternoon. The rain is expected to continue on Wednesday evening in South and East Jakarta, Depok and Bekasi. Temperatures in the capital are expected to range between 24 and 33 degrees Celsius.

Non-subsidized fuel sales to remain strong despite higher prices: Pertamina

State oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said Monday that it believes sales of its non-subsidized fuels will remain steady despite soaring prices. Pertamina spokesperson Mochamad Harun said he was sure that the company’s loyal customers who regularly purchased non-subsidized fuel would not quickly switch to cheaper fuels sold by foreign retailers such as Shell, Petronas and Total. Pertamina to Temporarily Shut Dumai Refinery Unit, Director Says

PT Pertamina plans to shut down a unit of its Dumai refinery in the fourth quarter for a month because of maintenance works, Edi Setianto, processing director at the Indonesian state-owned oil and gas company said in Jakarta today.
